Key West Master Chefs Classic to Present Cuisine for a Cause Jan. 29

KEY WEST, Florida Keys — Attendees can sample extravagant edibles prepared by leading local chefs at Key West's 23rd annual Master Chefs Classic culinary competition and tasting. The popular fundraising feast is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, overlooking Key West Harbor at the Westin Key West Resort and Marina Pier, 245 Front St.

Chefs from some of the finest Key West and Lower Keys restaurants are to concoct their most creative offerings at the event, competing for top honors in the appetizer, entrée and dessert categories. Attending food-lovers taste the dishes and cast people's choice ballots, while official judges determine those most deserving of other awards.

The celebration of cuisine raises funds for the Monroe Association for ReMARCable Citizens, also called MARC, a nonprofit agency that provides life services for Florida Keys adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Only 450 tickets are available for the culinary classic, so early ticket purchase is encouraged. Prices begin at $75 per person, and groups can reserve tables for four or eight with premium wine. Tickets can be purchased at keystix.com.
