Howard Livingston (right) and "Key West Time" guest Peter Anderson sample margaritas from Livingston's wacky boat motor/blender.
No matter what their actual U.S. or international time zone, people craving a tropical break can find it thanks to a new Internet television show hosted by Florida Keys singer/songwriter Howard Livingston.
"Key West Time with Howard Livingston & Friends" showcases the laid-back Keys lifestyle through the eyes of Livingston, his wife Cyndy, members of his Mile Marker 24 Band and local and visiting characters and celebrities. Keys landmarks, events, history, activities, cuisine, environmental wonders and easygoing attitude are interspersed with indigenous tunes from Livingston and the band.
"The backdrop is the local side of the Keys, and there's a lot of spontaneity," said Livingston. "You're hanging with us."
The program airs at 8 p.m. every other Thursday on Internet stations www.conchtv.com and www.conchrepublicradio.com.
The next episode is a special Tuesday-night showing Aug. 3 followed by a regularly scheduled broadcast Thursday, Aug. 19. Shows are archived and available on-demand, so that any time can be "Key West Time."
