Outdoor Bay Jam to Present Daylong Live Music March 26 in Islamorada

ISLAMORADA, Florida Keys — Backed by Florida Bay's turquoise waters, an innovative lineup of musicians is to play from midday into the evening Sunday, March 26, at the 23rd annual Bay Jam. The music festival takes place at the ICE Amphitheater at Founders Park, mile marker 87 bayside on Plantation Key.

Performers representing a wide array of genres are to come from around the country.

Highlights include the soulful torch blues of the Norbert Leo Butz Band, whose frontman is the actor who plays Kevin Rayburn in the smash hit Netflix series "Bloodline," as well as fresh acoustic originals from lyricist Schuyler Fisk. The songwriter also is an actress like her mother Sissy Spacek, who currently stars as the matriarch in "Bloodline," the drama filmed in the Upper Keys.

The event's popular "jam" aspect typically features each band alongside special-guest Florida Keys musicians for a day filled with spontaneous, one-of-a-kind music.

Islamorada's Dave Feder is to join the funk fusion and rhythm and blues of the band Ecology from Tallahassee, Florida. Music lovers also can enjoy the acoustic pop sounds of local breakout artist Leah Sutter, Upper Keys musical fixture Steve Venini and several other acts.

Doors open at 11 a.m. and live performances are scheduled from noon until 8 p.m.

Bay Jam's attractions also include a variety of artisan booths and festival souvenir merchandise, cool drinks and island edibles. In addition, attendees can enjoy a swim at the bayside beach.

Although coolers are not permitted, attendees can bring lawn chairs and blankets. Leashed pets are welcome.

The daylong music festival is presented by the not-for-profit Islamorada Community Entertainment. Admission to the event is free, but donations are welcomed and appreciated. Parking is available inside Founders Park for a $5 donation.

Donations and proceeds from parking, food, beverage and vendor sales directly help fund in-school programs as well as art, music and dance scholarships to Upper Keys high school students. To date, ICE events have contributed over $300,000 toward these grants.
