'WineDine' Restaurant Month to Start Sept. 15 in Key West and Islamorada

FLORIDA KEYS — Florida Keys flavors highlight a menu of dining opportunities for visitors Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, during a unique restaurant month staged in Key West and Islamorada.

Fans of fine food can enjoy multicourse prix fixe meals at a number of Key West and Islamorada restaurants during the event "cooked up" to showcase indigenous cuisine and the talents of Florida Keys chefs. The culinary celebration debuted last year in Key West and is expanding to include Islamorada in 2017.

During WineDine KeyWest and WineDine Islamorada, event organizer Mark Certonio said participating restaurants are to offer three-course meals priced at approximately $20 per person for lunch and $35 per person for dinner.

Restaurants include casual waterfront spots, trendy bistros, eateries specializing in fresh Florida Keys seafood and award-winning gourmet emporiums.

Diners can register free online to take part in the monthlong moveable feast. The websites detail the featured restaurants and their menus, as well as other local businesses including spas, lodging properties, watersports operators, museum attractions and boutiques with enticing offers for event participants.

An additional website section introduces diners to the Florida Keys chefs behind the selected restaurants' fare.
