Visitors who participate in DRC's 'Meet the Dolphin' program can bring their own Santa hats, reindeer antlers or other accessories to use while posing. DRC's experienced photographers will shoot the pictures using high-resolution digital cameras. 'Meet the Dolphin' guests go onto a floating dock to give backrubs and share a "flippershake" with a dolphin and have their photo taken. The program is offered several times each day on a walk-in basis and costs $25 per person in addition to general admission prices. The photos are supplied on a flash drive for $20 for one person, and $35 for multiple people in the same shot. Quality prints are also available and print prices vary depending on number ordered. Group size is limited to four people.

Kick off the 2013-14 season with this ferociously funny, family-friendly show. Local’s Art Show

The Locals Art Show, for years affectionately nicknamed the "Pigeon Poop Show" by local residents as an alternative to February's Pigeon Key Art Fest, returns to Marathon this year! The outdoor show is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. One of the most popular features at this show is the cast of local characters our guests encounter, as artists are often found hard at work, painting and creating original works of art or perhaps even weaving palm fronds into hats right on site at their booths! This show features a variety of mediums with reputedly affordable prices ranging "from tens, to hundreds, of dollars" for the more discriminating buyer. Whatever your delight, you are sure to find something to enjoy at this colorful event. Admission and parking are free. Located at the K-mart Shopping Plaza, 5585 Overseas Hwy.

Christmas lights on outriggers, Santa's elves and brightly lit deck displays highlight the beautiful festivities during the Key Colony Beach Boat Parade, set to begin at the 7th Street canal. The parade is open to all boats, and the route visits canals and cuts, and passes city hall three times. Great viewing spots include Sadowski Causeway at MM 53.5 and the dock area behind city hall and the post office. The public is welcome. An after-party with awards for captains and crews is to be held at Key Colony Inn with a free buffet and cash bar.
